This project stabilized the Balligomingo Road and Brandywine Creek Road to address the slope failure now and for the future, this project involves slope stabilization, drainage improvements, pavement repair and replacement work. Construction activities involves the installation of a soldier pile retaining wall along the toe of the failed slope areas to stabilize the embankment slope and roadway rock protection and other miscellaneous construction.
The bridge project consisted of replacing a 17 span bridge and replacing it with a 4 span 370’ bridge over Amtrak and Septa Tracks. The project included 4 retaining walls for the bridge approaches and 2 Septa Ramps for pedestrian access from the bridge.
Replacement of an existing three-span, rolled steel multi-beam bridge over T-555 (Crackersport Road) with a simple span, steel plate girder bridge utilizing Accelerated Bride Construction (ABC) Methods. The work also includes embankment widening and approach roadway tie-ins.
