Road-Con completed accelerated repairs on SR 3101 over Interstate 80 in Luzerne County to correct subsidence due to a collapsed 60-inch pipe under the fill near the abutment and wings on the north side of the bridge. The failed pipe created a void under the wingwall, and the stream carried by the pipe washed out additional material, causing further subsidence. We removed and replaced the collapsed existing 60-inch culvert with an 84-inch plate arch tunnel and 72-inch steel casing pipe. There was also a failing pipe underfill near the abutment and wings on the south side of the bridge that required repair. We slip lined this 42-inch culvert with a 30-inch HDPE slip line liner pipe. Road-Con also did concrete structural repairs of the SR 3101 Hobbie Road Bridge.
