Training

Safety training is provided by both our in-house Safety Manager and outsourced services. Common areas of focus include but are not limited to OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Training, Flagger Training, Rigger Training, Confined Space Training, and Work Zone Traffic Control Training.

Certifications

Our employees are continuously challenged to expand their knowledge base by attending company-provided training sessions. These sessions yield certifications in areas such as Trench Excavation Competent Person, Crane Operation, Forklift Operation, and ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor.

Awards

Road-Con is a member of the National Contractors Insurance Ltd. (NCI) Captive insurance groups succeed or fail based on their commitment to safety. Since joining NCI in 2002, Road-Con has received the group’s Risk Control Award of Excellence on five occasions for outperforming other companies in the areas of safety and risk control.

Safety Manual

While the company maintains a base safety manual, project specific manuals and site-specific work plans (SSWP) are prepared on a project-by-project basis by our Safety Manager and reviewed with the project team prior to engaging the work.

Unique Commitment to Safety

Unlike most of our industry counterparts, Road-Con continually rotates all of our management staff to risk control workshops provided by our insurance captive group. These workshops occur multiple times each year at destinations throughout the country. The intent of the workshops is to bring a heightened awareness of safety and the costs associated with complacency.
