Equipment Operator

An operator has the potential to operate several pieces of heavy construction equipment, including Excavators, Bulldozers, Cranes, Rollers, Frontend Loaders, Backhoes, Pavers, and other equipment as jobs demand. Operators can be expected to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structural and reinforcing steel, pour concrete, place asphalt, and work at heights. The operator’s job duties include driving machines and controlling various equipment attachments; drills, hammers, grapples, and sheers. The operator is responsible for greasing, inspecting, and reporting mechanical issues prior to operating the equipment. In some cases, operators may be required to have a CDL and/or a DOT medical card. Operator shifts can be daytime or nighttime. Operators are required to comply with PA One Call while working around public utilities. The operator position is safety sensitive and has the potential to pose safety risks to other employees and the public. All listed job duties are essential.
