Just got a federal cooperative agreement and looking to hire contractors with the associated grant funds? Be sure to familiarize yourself with procurement changes in the federal Uniform Administrative Requirements!

For any grant agreements issued after December 26, 2014, the current cost principles which govern how you can spend your Federal funding can be found at 2 CFR 200, Subpart E.

BRS, Inc. is participating in a webinar hosted by NJIT Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) program, How to Get the Right Contractor On Board, on December 11, 2015 from 11:30 to 12:30, see below for more information.

Highlights of these latest federal procurement regulations include:

  1. Micro-Purchases: For reasonably priced purchases under $3,000, formal solicitations are not required.
  2. Small Purchases: The limit for small purchases has been raised from $100,000 to $150,000. A good rule of thumb is to obtain at least three quotes from qualified sources.
  3. Large Purchases: The limit for large purchases has been raised to contracts in excess of $150,000. This requires a competitive solicitation process that is publicly advertised.

And remember, this information is not meant as a substitute for legal advice. Check your local procurement requirements as they may be more stringent. If you have any federal procurement compliance questions or issues, be sure to reach out to your federal funding agency.
